What is IFFCO Diesel Exhaust Fuel AdBlue®
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is an emissions control liquid required by modern diesel engines. It is not a fuel, nor a fuel addictive and needs to be used in a dedicated tank in your heavy duty vehicle. It is usually injected or sprayed into the hot exhaust stream. DEF is never added to diesel fuel. At a chemical level, It is a non-hazardous, non toxic solution of 32.5% urea and 67.5% de-ionized water that transform harmful nitrous oxide (NOx) emission into harmless water and Gas.
DEF is clear, colorless and looks exactly like water. DEF is used in by Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to remove harmful NOx emissions from diesel engines. SCR technology uses ammonia to break down dangerous NOx emissions produced by diesel engines into environmentally friendly components, diatomic Nitrogen (N2) and water.
